Kent Browns Backers
Chapter 80

All About the Kent Browns Backers

The Kent Browns Backers was formed in 1999 and incorporated in 2005. We have had two meeting places during this time. The original meeting site was Mike's Place restaurant until 2014 when the club moved to Eldorado's Pizza Pie. In 2015 Water Street Tavern was added as a second viewing location. The club will move the primary viewing this year to the Kent American Legion.

Along with having fun and the camaraderie of watching Cleveland Browns football, the Kent Browns Backers raise funds through our activities. Most of these funds are donated to local community organizations on behalf of our members. Along with local charities, we also donate to the multiple charities of the Cleveland Browns Foundation.

Since 2001, the Kent Browns Backers have donated over $30,000 to support our local community organizations. Some of these include:

  • Cleveland Browns Foundation
  • NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Program
  • Big Brothers & Sisters of Portage County
  • Portage County Foster Care
  • Akron Children's Hospital
  • American Cancer Society
  • Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, Ohio State University
  • Freedom House
  • Portage County Animal Protective League
  • Local food banks

and many more.

Throughout the season we have many special events, such as a clam bake, bus trip to a Browns home game, corn hole tournament, annual golf outing, holiday party and Super Bowl party to name a few.

If you are looking for an organization where you can meet new people, have fun, contribute to local organizations and watch the Cleveland Browns, look no further. Contact us for membership information.
